Spinacia oleracea
'Bloomsdale' is a Little Veggie Patch favourite and very popular old home garden favourite. It is a heavy yielding, hardy spinach with large glossy thick green leaves. Plant in full sun to part shade, it does not tolerate hot conditions. Soil should be free draining and prepared with compost and well-rotted manure at least a week prior to planting.
How to Plant: Sow the seeds directly into the veggie patch at most times of the year, however, during very hot or very cold periods, propagate the seeds in a greenhouse and transplant when conditions are milder.
