Pisum sativum
'Oregon' Snow Peas are very large, sweet pods that grow up to 10cm in length. The plant will need a trellis to grow as its height can reach 1.5m. Its resistance to powdery mildew makes it an excellent variety at any time of year. The pods are crunchy and irresistible and a great garden snack. Plant in well-draining soil that has been prepared with chicken manure prior to planting. The peas will also benefit from an application of lime as part of soil preparation. Allow the soil to settle for a week before planting takes place. Requires full sun.
