Medium sized evergreen shrub with dense rounded habit and glossy, mid-green foliage. In spring, large trusses of open, funnel-shaped blooms in a stunning, deep reddish-purple with a green-gold eye that slowly turns a glowing red, make a spectacular show. A must-have for any Rhododendron enthusiast. Plant in a garden that receives dappled shade. Requires well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil.
