Rhododendron hybrid - possibly ponticum and/or catawbiense
Evergreen shrub with broadly rounded habit and lovely bright-green foliage. In mid to late spring, trusses of funnel-shaped flowers with a soft-violet margin, white centre and strong yellow spots on the dorsal lobe, adorn the plant in a stunning sea of colour.
The flowers are unusually attractive and you can expect to enjoy them even on young plants.
Prefers a sheltered location with dappled sunlight and requires well-draining, humus-rich, acidic soil.
