Rhododendron hybrid -'The Honourable Jean Marie de Montague' x strigillosum
Vigorous, tough evergreen shrub with large, dark-green pointed foliage that has light indumentum on the underside. Blooms in early to mid-spring when tight, bell-shaped trusses of magnificent, frilly-edged, blood-red flowers adorn the plant.
Prefers protection from extreme heat. Requires well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil.
