Pisum sativum
'Snap Sugar Bon' is the most popular dwarf sugar snap pea for both professional farmers and home gardeners alike. Its resistance to powdery mildew makes it an excellent variety at any time of year. The pods are sweet, crunchy and irresistible and a great garden snack. Plant in well-draining soil that has been prepared with chicken manure prior to planting. The peas will also benefit from an application of lime as part of soil preparation. Allow the soil to settle for a week before planting takes place. Requires full sun, plant up against a fence to maximise space.
