Les's Penny is a compact and bushy deciduous shrub with light-green foliage that produces some lovely autumn colours, it is a sub-genius of the rhododendron family. In October-November, masses of brilliant-orange, ruffled, semi-double flowers make a sensational display of colour.

Prefers dappled shade and well-drained, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil.
