M. liliiflora ''Reflorescens' x M. stellata 'Waterlily'
The 'Jane' magnolia tree has a shrubby habit and leathery green leaves during the summer season that turn a bronzy yellow in autumn. Huge fragrant blooms, purple-pink with a hint of red on the outer petals, white inside, appear on bare branches during spring, making a spectacular show.
As with all magnolias, it prefers a moist, fertile and well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. A sunny aspect in a protected position is best. They also tolerate partial shade, and some protection from strong wind will enhance and prolong the flowering season.
