Allium schoenoprasum
'Medium Common' Chives have a subtle mild onion flavour and are easy to grow. These long, thin chives are excellent used for a variety of cuisines and can be eaten cooked or raw. The plant produces lavender coloured flower heads that are much prized by chefs. Requires a sunny position and well-drained moderately fertile soil, add compost prior to planting.
How to plant: Sow the seeds directly into the patch, they also transplant well so purchasing as seedlings and then transplanting to your patch works as well.
