Buxus, or English Box as it is commonly known, is an evergreen shrub prized for its ability to be shaped into varying forms. Buxus is often used to create visual interest in a formal garden.
The foliage is small, ovate and leathery. Buxus can be used individually in pots, or grouped together to create a formal hedge.
Prune in late spring to early summer, after the new growth has appeared. Hardy and frost tolerant, plants do well in full sun to part shade and will grow to approximately two metres.
Requires well draining soil, mulch around plants to help retain moisture so that the plants do not dry out.
