Phaseolus nanus
'Windsor Long Pod' is a very popular bush bean. Pods are 15-20cm long, green and attractive with deep red seeds. Pick the pods whilst still young and stringless, this will promote further flowering and additional crops. Beans emit naturally produced nitrogen into the soil therefore a moderately fertile, well-draining soil is required. Ensure pH is with the range of 6.5-7.0. Plant in full sun, preferable in an area where they can be trained vertically.
How to plant: Sow directly into the patch and give a thorough soaking after sowing. Avoid over watering before germination as it may cause the bean seed to rot.
