Rhododendron molle
Redshank is a compact deciduous shrub with bushy upright habit and glossy-green foliage that turns to a lovely coppery-crimson colour in autumn. It is a sub-genus of the rhododendron family.
In spring, domed trusses of open funnel-shaped flowers, in orange-red with yellowish flushes light up the garden in a sea of colour.
Prefers full sun to dappled shade and well-drained, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil.
