Azalea Kurume - (probably the same as Aya-no-kamuri)
Dense evergreen shrub with upright growth habit and dark-green foliage. In mid-spring, showy clusters of gorgeous pink flowers adorn the plant. This hardy variety of azalea is prized for Bonsai culture. Looks lovely in a pot or under trees where it receives some protection from hot sun.
Prune straight after flowering to avoid removing new growth. Plant in well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil.
