Menta x piperita
'Peppermint' is a botanical mint most closely aligned in flavour to peppermint. It is fast growing, aromatic and belongs to the Mentha family. This prolific grower can quickly get root bound so planting in larger pots is recommended. Mint grows in a wide range of soil types, just make sure to add plenty of compost and feed once a month with seaweed extract. It will thrive in most light conditions from full sun to shade.
How to plant: Sow directly into a container and let it germinate and establish there, mint can be invasive if left untended in the patch.

Companion plants: Tomatoes, Cabbage, but best to grow alongside in its own container.
