Rhododendron hybrid - (Carmen x Elizabeth) x elliottii
Dwarf evergreen shrub with dense mounding habit and lovely dark-green foliage. Perfect for pots or garden beds under trees. In early to mid spring, dark-red buds open to reveal a profusion of waxy trusses of deep-red blooms that become the focal point of the garden. Prefers dappled shade and well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil.
