Rhododendron
Compact, bushy evergreen shrub with rounded habit and small, mid-green foliage. Flower size is smaller than many rhododendrons, but produced in spectacular profusion in mid-spring when clusters of trumpet-shaped, geranium-red blooms appear.
Likes protection from hot sun. Requires a well-draining, humus-rich, acidic soil.
