Pieris japonica
Compact Crimson is a decorative medium to large evergreen shrub. New foliage has a bronze tinge which fades to light pink and then eventually matures to a glossy green. Masses of clustered, tassel-like crimson buds bloom to pure white bell-shaped flowers in spring. Prefers dappled shade and well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil.
