Rhododendron - The Hon. Jean Marie de Montague x R. strigillosum
Beautiful mid-sized evergreen shrub with upright growth habit and pointy, forest-green foliage. This variety is considered one of the top Rhododendrons. Perfect to plant under large trees or as an informal hedge.
Deep-red buds during winter, open to reveal trusses of bright-red ruffled flowers with a darker throat that make a stunning display of colour. Taurus was awarded 'Rhododendron of the Year' by the A.R.S for it's remarkable beauty. This variety is very similar to Grace Seabrook.
Prefers dappled shade and requires well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil.
