Pinus radiata
Tall, evergreen conifer with a broad conical growth habit and soft, dark-green pine needles. Bark is irregular and fissured and breaks off in large pieces. Makes an excellent shade tree, is valued for its timber and is most often grown in Australia for Christmas trees.
Enjoys full sun and is wind tolerant. Plant in light, sandy soil.
