Magnolia x (acuminata × denudata)
'Elizabeth' is a rare yellow-flower. deciduous, upright growing magnolia. It makes the perfect specimen tree and was awarded the RHS Award of Merit for its dramatic early-spring blooms.
Large tapered buds open to reveal cup-shaped, slightly fragrant, primrose-yellow blooms. The tree is absolutely breath taking when in full flower and is certainly one of the very best yellow magnolias you will find.
As with all magnolias, it prefers a moist, fertile and well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. A sunny aspect in a protected position is best. They also tolerate partial shade, and some protection from strong wind will enhance and prolong the flowering season.
